The ShekKwu Chau Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre was established in 1963. It is the largest drug treatment center in Hong Kong. The area of ShekKwu Chau Island is approx. one-third of Cheung Chau Island, and the buildings of the Centre are all over the island. The Roman swimming pool in the Centre's courtyard is a Hong Kong Grade III historical building, which has a high historical conservation value.
